With the rapid development of Mobile communication industry,in order to provide better mobile communication services and enhance enterprise competitiveness,according to the evolution line of the CDMA wireless network,China Telecom has planned to establish the network which will be upgraded to 1xEVDO 3G network on the basis of existing CDMA2000 lx 2.5G network for the purpose of providing 3G Mobile communication service.CDMA2000 1xEVDO is the third generation mobile communication technology which was developed on the basis of CDMA2000 1x. It is oriented to high-speed packet radio services with the features of adapting to the unsymmetrical forward and reverse sudden data service.1xEVDO technology is one of the most widely used modern technologies of high-speed wireless packet data service,which provides forward peak data rate up to 3.1Mbps. It supports IP protocol strongly,can carry all kinds of mainstream applications on the base of IP technology and realizes the interaction between users and Internet/Intranet at any time and any place. On the other hand, because many technologies used in EVDO are the same as those used in CDMA2000 lx, the upgrade can be carried out smoothly based on the existing network, and this will reduce costs of construction and realize synergies networking.Currently,collaborative planning of CDMA2000 1x and 1xEVDO wireless network is a new topic. The comprehensive Planning needs combine their similarities and own characteristics of lxEVDO wireless technology. This article summarizes the author's experience and ideas in the work of Hefei Telecom CDMA2000 wireless network planning and design. To meet the needs of the wireless network expansion and upgrade,the author finished re-planning and designing PN codes of the whole network,implementing the specific design, analysising simulation and index comparison to the adjusted network PN reuse situation. Meanwhile, under the existing CDMA network traffic analysis, coverage analysis and DT (Driving Test)coverage analysis,the author completed base station coverage planning of the entire network,simulation analysis of the base station after construction and the comparative analysis of coverage from the perspective of coverage and capacity by using voice and data business model of CDMA2000 1x and 1xEVDO. The results demonstrated the design feasible and reasonable.The method and experience formed by this planning and design is worthy of communication and reference for other local CDMA2000 wireless nework planning, design and optimization.
