Wideband and convergence have become the trend of mobile communication development. Due to the scarcity of wireless resources, it is important to improve the usage of wireless resources, guarantee the users'seamless experience and QoS. Heterogeneous networks convergence, which cooperates the networks with different feathers, provides a possibility to solve this problem. In this context, Cognitive Pilot Channel (CPC) is developed to assist the user terminals to fetch the radio environment information around, decrease the time to access into the network and power consumption to search the networks. Besides, it is very useful to download software for the protocol stack reconfiguration in the end to end reconfiguration scenario.The main content of this paper is to build a system to demonstrate the heterogeneous wireless network convergence and mesh division theory, evaluate the delay performance of CPC. Specifically, it has the following aspects:Firstly, the evolution of wireless networks and the necessity of heterogeneous networks convergence are described. The concept, feathers, work mode, architecture and deployment of Cognitive Pilot Channel are also introduced.Secondly, all kinds of key technology to build the system are introduced, including driver query, AT command, Socket communication, multithread program etc. Then, according to the CPC theory, the demo and evaluation system is designed. The whole system includes CPC server, software virtual terminals and physical terminal. The Socket and short message are chose to be the implementation of CPC between the CPC server and terminals. The cover area of the cell is divided into meshes of different size and CPC server is able to work under broadcast or on demand mode.Thirdly, the system is implemented. Several demo scenarios are presented and the delay of CPC is tested. The demo scenarios are composed of radio environment information collection, CPC assisted network selection and terminal service display. As regard to the evaluation of CPC, the delay performance is tested under different work mode and mesh division.Finally, a conclusion is summarized at the end of this paper, and the future directions are pointed out.
