Interconnecting MANET And INTERNET

MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Network) is a new kind of wireless network based on Ad Hoc network technology. MANET is defined as a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming an autonomous network without the aid of any infrastructure providing centralized administration. Each node moves randomly in the network and deploies easily in the variety of special circumstances. MANET uses itself routing protocols inside to communicate between nodes though wireless multi-hops links.With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and the boom of real-time multimedia service in Internet, more and more people have the increasing need to access to Internet at anytime, anywhere. Therefore, the research on interconnection MANET and Internet technology is increasing simultaneity. The recent access method usually selects a node as the fixed gateway to provide MANET access service, forward network packets by this gateway. In this paper, we present a solution of dynamic gateway to meet the urgent needs of interconnecting MANET to Internet.The subject of this paper comes from the project of going abroad in Ministry of Education, the goal is to develop the aodv protocol which to support the corresponding gateway actions. This paper focuses on the design and implementation of aodv protocol.The paper first discussed aodv protocol and mobile IP protocol's working principle, explained the concept of the dynamic gateway. Then focus on explaining the reasons which used the mobile IP rather than NAT to forward the network packets.Based on the above research, the following part of this paper detail designed the solution of the interconnection MANET and Internet, including the gateway searching, gateway registration, gateway selection, gateway broadcast.Then the article gave some functions's flow chart.Then the article detail described the software implementation process and the important fuction of features.The paper also made a brief explaination to build the test environment and the test results. The test indicated that the software can implement the function.In the end, the paper proposed the deficiency in research and future work.
