In recent years, traffic accidents doubled due to sharp increase in motor vehicles, while the transport infrastructure has not improved in time. It's usually difficult to collect the data of the accident site, post-personalize the accident and reappear the accident for the artificial process of the traffic accident which also causes a waste of money, time and lack of accuracy. To sole this problem, an efficient practical data collecting system for surveying and mapping traffic accidents on the spot was designed based on ARM9, combined with the serial communication and embedded technique.Firstly, choose experiment board, and designed integrated multi-sensor module to provide hardware platform for DAQ;Secondly, clipped and transplanted the core of the Windows CE operating system to construct system platform;Thirdly, developed data collection applications in Windows CE so as to ease the manipulation for those in charge of the accident investigation. And transmitted the data between sensors and applications, using the serial communication technique.The advantages of this system:quick and accurate collection, no miss detection and false detection, shorten the time for the whole accident investigation, avoid the traffic jam as much as possible at the scene of serious or extraordinarily serious traffic accident, provide technical support for quick accident management.
