Lightning threats the electrical power system. Lightning strike on line circuits causes trip-out accidents and then ruins power-supply equipments, which negatively affects the reliability of power supply. Due to the difficulty in positioning rapidly and exactly of lightning strike spots after lightning strike on transmission lines or power-supply equipments, it is hard to quantitively evaluate the lightning protection performance of line circuits, which brings about a lot of inconvenience in handling the very faults. In consequence, the crucial point of power system is to effectively gain lightning information in due course.In order to solve this problem, the monitoring information of lightning position, is employed to immediately carry out positioning on lightning strikes occurring in power grid, to achieve the surveillance on lightning activities and then provide information to analyze accidents caused by lightning damage. Based on B/S framework and Web GIS platform, applying the AJAX Technology and Web Service Interface technique, this thesis expound the analysis, design and implementation process of the lightning position and query system with the direction of object-oriented systematical analysis and design concept. Supplied with the data from Electric spatial information services platform provided by power companies, geographical display of lightning information, real-time monitoring, historical review, regional statistical analysis, lightning-strike-fault analysis and relative applications are realized in this system.The exploit and development of this system employs the object-oriented system analysis approach to make static and dynamic system analysis in accordance with demands of the user. This thesis also applied the results of system analysis into the overall and detailed system design, which is made up of interface call approach, interface design and code design. The realization of the system not only depends on system design but also AJAX Technology and Web Service Interface Technique.
