Nowadays data is the centre of the world, losing of data will cause great loss to enterprises, governments and schools and so on. So the whole society is focusing on the data protection, instantly and continually. But the conventional data protection technologies such as copy, back-up, replicate, mirror etc. are limited in many aspects of data protection, such as granularity, complexities, real-time, RTO, RPO and so on. So it's difficult for them to satisfy the growing demand. Then, how to supply real-time continual and flexible data protection to our users?To solve this problem, CDP SIG (Continuous Data Protection Special Interest Group) from SNIA DMF (Data Management Forum) presented a new notation--Continuous Data Protection and defined it: Continuous data protection is a set of method, it can catch or trace the changes of data and storage them independently to make sure that data can recover to any point of the past time. This definition points out a new problem-solving approach to current data protection. So we follow the CDP definition carefully, adopt special continuous data protection scheme that aims at different factors such as hardware, software, mis-operation, virus and natural disasters and so on. Our solution put CDP into effect and supply real-time, continuous, flexible data protection by integrating many advanced technologies, for instance, disk filter driver, snapshot, iSCSI, remote replication, remote guidance, log and so on.Comparing with traditional data protection solution, our CDP solution has a series of advantages:Firstly, it can access data at any time. Secondly, the backup data can be used instantly. Recovering is unnecessary. Thirdly, it can protect data lossing caused by non-hardware failure. Fourthly, data recovering is more flexible because of much more fine-grained recovering time and object,Besides, in today's market, CDP products have emerged one after another. Comparing with these products our CDP solution is outstanding. According to CDP's definition from CDP SIG, catching and tracing changes of data are the basic and key point of the whole CDP system. The execution efficiency of this module decides the efficiency of the whole CDP system to a great extent. Hereon, we monitor the changes of the data instantly by disk filter driver, only record and transfer the data that has been modified which greatly reduced the amount of calculation for data changes and network transmission. Thereby it improved efficiency greatly.
