With the rapid development of modern network technology, people's demand is more and more toward convenience-oriented, real-time technology and wireless technology. As a wide variety of wireless networks going into the next generation of the Internet, a new technology——Wireless Mesh Networks has emerged. Wireless Mesh Networks is in the industry's attention for its advantages of low-cost, rapid construction, easy maintenance and stability. The paper focuses on the Mesh mode in IEEE 802.16 standard. The main contents are:Firstly, according to the provisions in IEEE 802.16 standard, the paper proposes protocol stack structure, frame structure, competition mechanisms and data scheduling mode. The paper retaines the frame structure in IEEE 802.16 standard, but designs new competition mechanisms. Scheduling mode uses three-way handshake coorperative distributed scheduling to schedule data. The paper describes highly efficient scheduler architecture in details.Secondly, aiming at the deficiencies of existing algorithms, the paper proposes a Coordinated Distributed Scheduling algorithm supported QoS. The algorithm has listening, sending, predicting, mapping process. The experiment's results show that the algorithm can not only avoid conflicting among nodes, but also guarantee QoS requirements.Thirdly, as IEEE 802.16 standard has not the data scheduling algorithm, the paper provides a Grading Scheduling Algorithm with Degradation. Based on the actual system requirements, the algorithm designs a complete scheduler and scheduling strategies. The simulation results show that the algorithm has 20Mpbs throuput using 16QAM3/4 modulation. And also the UGS has low jitter delay. Finally, the summary of the full text plans the future works.
