Information accessing technology is one of the key technologies in development of facility agriculture. Wireless sensor network is a new Information accessing and processing technology that consists of three major modern information technology (sensor technology, wireless communication technology and computer technology), which could meet the requirement of facility agriculture production. Supported by "Environmental information accurate monitoring and early warning system for greenhouse group", multi-hop greenhouse wireless sensor network was realized based on Zigbee protocol. Wireless sensor network is an important part of greenhouse monitoring system, which composes all sensor nodes as a system, gathers and environmental information and send them to gateway node on time, transmits data to terminal equipment. This paper analyze the principal of greenhouse wireless sensor network monitoring system from the perspective of protocol, main contents are as follows:(1) Analysis on short-range communication protocol, WSN research status. Analyze IEEE 802.15.4 and Zigbee communication protocol standards and the Zigbee protocol layers. Compare Zigbee with other wireless communication protocols, come up with their own advantages and disadvantages. Finally, select Z-Stack2006 to build a wireless sensor network.(2) IAR integrated development environment is used to compile and transplant Z-Stack. And network topology, wireless signal channel, routing depth are configured. Analysis OSAL operating system, research and achieve tasks addition in OSAL operating system and manage the hardware resources.(3) Analysis the initiation process of network construction executed by coordinator, network connection of router and end device. Capture the wireless signal by wireless signal analyzer, study data frame during network construction and network connection process.(4) Energy conservation is the priory problem in WSN application. By analyzing the role of WSN routing protocols, position and significance of topology control in WSN and the affect that cluster formation in LEACH algorithm put on energy consumption of the network. Based on this, compare and optimize network topology, obtain and test the suitable topology for greenhouses to meet network needs in greenhouse environment.
