Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a new interdisciplinary research field, which merges sensor technology, computer technology and wireless communication technology. It has the large, Self-organization, rapid deployment, unattended, and strong anti-destructive characteristics. The above described features ensure a wide range of applications for WSN such as:military defense, industrial automation, intelligent home, intelligent transportation, environment monitoring, biomedical and so on. Its prospect is very extensive. WSN has been rated as the most influential technology of 21 technology of the 21st century's. It will change the world as one of the 10 technology.Currently, energy problems have restricted the development of wireless sensor network bottlenecks. Therefore, reducing the power consumption of WSN is a key factor in the life cycle. First, the thesis introduces the research background, research status,and application areas of WSN. Second, describes the composition of the sensor network and the energy consumption of each module. Then the designing bases on MSP430F2254 microcontroller and CC2420 low-power sensor node temperature acquisition system. Aim for WSN node energy consumption of each module, from the comparative analysis of hardware about all kinds of chips, each module is given circuit design. The thesis focuses on the design of sensor node power module circuit. According to the node energy consumption different in different modes, the designing based on the TPS60313 and TPS61070 two power boost chips power circuit, which by the microcontroller based on the working status of the node to select dynamic power supply circuit. The analysis proved that the circuit improves the efficiency of battery and prolong the life of the sensor node.From the software described low power software design principles to be followed. Describing the software can take a variety of low power measures. The designing sensor node can use timer interrupt to make nodes sleep periodically, which greatly reduces energy consumption. The options of dynamic power management improve efficiency of power conversion circuit in order to reduce energy consumption. Also choosing the right power emission control measures can reduce energy consumption. We present an improved scheme about the shortage of the classic routing protocol -LEACH, which is from the view of network routing protocol. The simulation results showed that the improvement of routing protocols can effectively save energy and extended the running time of the entire network.
