Recently applications of wireless sensor networks has been attracted considerable attention.It has wide application in scientific research, industrial production, national defense and security fields.While wireless sensor networks develop fast in recent years, they also exist many problems in the specific application to be solved.As computing power constraints, sensor nodes can not analysis and process the accessed image, the image must be sent to the central server through a multi-hop transmission. Sensor node's battery power is limited, how to ensure the transmission quality of the premise and improve energy efficiency, maximize energy savings, are one of the important topics in wireless sensor network. From the wireless sensor network node camera,This article put forward an image transmission which the intermediate nodes on the adjacent network node analyze the image then process and combine the similarity value greater than a certain number of images,this way can reduce traffic and the network load, energy consumption. The resesch of this Master's thesis is as follows:we study the existing energy-saving methods of image transmission in wireless sensor networks,simplify the realization process of approach to reduce power consumption based on image merger,and reduce the complexity of the network algorithm,achieve the energy reduction target.Wireless multimedia sensor network coverage wide area generally and image acquisition nodes distribute densely, so the possibility of adjacent nodes obtaining similar images is large.The similar parts of image are combined after denoising,and does not deal with the non-similar parts,then these two parts are transferred to the central processor in traditional methods of image merging.Since the image separate transmission related to image separation technology, image processing nodes will increase energy consumption.To further reduce energy consumption, considering the condition of low image quality, if the similarity of images exceeds a certain value, one of them will be transfered, so this way reduce energy consumption through reducing the image transmission data.We design of wireless sensor network system based on OPHET network simulation software.theactual simulation results show the validity and practicability of this methed.
