With the rapid development of science and technology, gaming has become a huge pillar industry and aroused more and more attention. Now the computer game has not just an software for people to entertain, but has become a new form of art and communication gradually, had a tremendous impact on movie, TV, training and education etc.. Many experts have developed game used for non-entertainment purposes, such as military training, helping students to learn knowledge, and so on. The game of this type is called'Serious Games', and has already derived a new way of learning—Game-Based Learning(GBL).Compared with traditional learning methods, game-based learning with more abundant expression and powerful expressiveness can provide a rich and unpredictable environment for players to experience a virtual world through their own player character. During the process of game-playing, the user can acquire knowledge and how to solve problems. However, the general game-based learning system ignores the user's individual differences. It offers the same learning content and learning methods for each user, which reduces study passion of users. In order to achieve the best results for each user, combining the idea of personalized study, we research into how to develop the personalized game-based learning system.In this dissertation, the user personality model was built by analyzing the user's personality to get the primary factors that influenced the result of learning. Applying the user personality model in game-based learning system includes two the other parts: the domain knowledge model and the training model. The user model is the base of personalized study, the domain knowledge model offers a variety of learning materials for the system, while the training model provides the most suitable learning method for each user.In the dissertation, we design the ways of getting the user personalized data and how to describe the user personality. Combining the characteristics of game-based learning system, the data can be obtained through testing, recording users'operation into user log, psychological test and so on. Furthermore, a psychology experiment is made to test the correctness of personality traits descriptions gotten form personality model.In the dissertation, after research on applying the user personality model into game-based learning system, we propose a framework of realizing the user personality model in game-based learning system, define the rule of data effectiveness, game scoring rules and the match rules between the user personality traits and the training content, and describe detailed the design and concrete steps of the algorithms applied in the system.In the end, we realize the system on the mine accident rescue training. The system obtains the user's personality data, retrieve the matching knowledge according the related rules, and then provide to users. In the system, we get the hidden information by on-line or off-line analyzing the data in user log. According to the result of data mining, the performance of system is Evaluated .
