The Development Of Report Template Library System

As an software tool, report design tool is able to design tables, forms, style by dragging and dropping operation, and import the user's report data. Report template library is an important part of report design tool, which allows users to reuse report design easily, and improve the efficiency and quality of designing report. The research and development of report template library has important practical significance and academic value for improving the quality of report tools, the level of applications and maintenance.The report template library system which has been used conveniently has been developed on base of in-depth learning Eclipse plug-in technology, XML, SWT, patterns for designing, methods of data storage and system modeling theory. This system designs many software modules including interface, report conversion, visual effects, template storage, the template displays, the template search and so on. It storages 14 types total 217 typical report templates to expand and reuse. When the users select random type of report template library, all buttons that correspond to the report templates will be showed on the screen, click on a button, you can preview the template big picture. If you create this template, the system will automatically create the option corresponding statements for users to modify or use. Users can also save a final report to the report template library for later reuse.At present, the system which has been integrated in visual reporting tool system and process-oriented processing software product line worked very well. It has passed the national mid-term examination of the 863 Group.This paper describes basic technologies of report template library system development, and the processes of system requirement analysis, system design, system development, system test and running.
