Based On The Eclipse Platform Plug-in Extension To Achieve

With the rapid development of information appliance, network product, handled device and wireless device, the development of embedded application has become one of the most popular domain in computer industry. Due to the speciality of embedded software,its development is much more difficult compared with the development of traditional application and the requirement of the integration development environment is higher.Integration Development Environment(IDE),as an critical component in development tools,plays an important role in them.Good IDE can decrease the software development period,improve the software reliability obviously.Currently, the research of IDE in embedded development has multiplicity and each platform has its traits.Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building integrated tool software .With the development of plug-in based on Eclipse, Eclipse will have much wider future in embedded system domain. But, Eclipse, as an excellent open-source platform in embedded application, needs improvement in configuration management of target system. So we need one embedded configuration tool as third party plug-in extending Eclipse platform.The goal of this subject is to design and realize a kind of tool used on configuration management of target system based on Eclipse platform. This paper first introduces the technology of embedded system, afterward, makes a deep analysis on Eclipse platform and plug-in theoretics. After fully understanding the theoretics of plug-in development, according to actual situation designed and implemented a plug-in tool used on configuration management of target system.The tool has good software architecture and can be ported easily,it now has been used in the development of platform system successfully. The result shows that it meets all the demands of configuration management of target system,decreases the period of the development of software and guarantees the quality of the software obviously.
