Image measurement is the image of the tested object detection and transmission of information as a means to extract useful signal to obtain the parameters under test. Image measurement is currently the most widely used non-contact measurement with a non-contact measurement of a variety of advantages. Image Mosaic of space through a series of overlapping images aligned to form a seamless, high-definition images, it has a higher resolution than a single image and a larger field of vision. This paper presents a new image measurement method, which is based on image mosaic image measurement, the ultimate aim is to develop a set of image-based measuring technique two-dimensional size of a small shaft parts measuring system to achieve non-contact measurement.The combination of dimension depending on the subject (Microvision) MV-130UM camera and three-dimensional motion platform, design of digital image processing measurement system. Mainly for a moment several aspects of the research work:(1) Analysis of the current domestic and international digital image processing measurement system of the status quo.(2) Design a mechanical measuring system. This topic using the camera installed in the Z-axis of three-dimensional motion Taiwan, by moving three-dimensional motion on the table scanners capture images of parts. Introduce the bench erected in various parts, highlighted the AC servo control system.(3) Measurement path planning. Proposed a measurement method based on image stitching. Programming through the host computer sets along the part contour, and use process control camera movement during the three-dimensional motion for each auto-shot time interval of 4 seconds.(4) Focus on the Matlab-based digital image processing, including image preprocessing, the threshold segmentation, edge extraction, image matching and fusion.(5) Image processing and measurement and to capture images under different physical properties from the comparison whether the image mosaic of the measurement results, got the outcome.Experiments proved the accuracy of image-based mosaic indeed been improved, and met the measurement requirements.(6) Summary and outlook.
