Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an active remote sensing system which can be aboarded on aircraft, satellite and other carriers with the advantages of all day and night and all-weather ability. In comparison with optical system, SAR has a unique advantage. With the development of imaging radar technology, Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is an important development of SAR. InSAR inherits SAR's all-weather, large-scale and a certain penetration characteristics. It can provide precise three-dimensional topography and has a wide range of applications in environmental monitoring, ocean observing, crop yield assessment, mapping and military. In this dissertation, we first describe the basic principle and data processing flow of Synthetic Aperture Radar and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar. Then we discuss the algorithms of Synthetic Aperture Radar imaging, Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar registrating, phase filtering and phase unwrapping, with emphasis on wide-swath and high-resolution image registration algorithm.
