In the information processing, the researchers usually use the C + + or MATLAB to program on their own, which often do not have the standard of practice, or have only limited practical application. Thus, the repeated usage and development of the algorithm is very difficult, and often cause critical developmental problems. Toolkits for biometric information-processing usually have only one set of ready-made algorithms and simple data structure. The interface, consistency and scalability of performance of such toolkit are often unsatisfactory. BITK biometric identification technology is a software development package based on the characteristics and needs, designs and developments of scientific research , and provides software support for research in the field.Biometric Information Processing Development Kit BITK provides a framework for a variety of biometric recognition algorithms. The BITKAPP is an application platform which helps the researchers to program specific algorithms directly within, and do not have to engage the troubles of data input, output and display. It greatly reduced the time and effort on repetitive code development. BITKAPP used the nonlinear BITK data flow model to protect the biological characteristics of data, it was based on the BITK computing framework. The multi-platform supportive Qt4 development tools was used in order to ensure that BITKAPP platform is an independence platform. The application interfaces build on QT4 do not only support cross-platform usage, their codes are also easy to understand and more stable than usual. The QT signals and slots mechanism clearly divided the application software interface and processing module, minimized the interference and simplified the cross-platform development.In a Windows system that has the BITKAPP application development platform installed, the BITK gain the ability pin-pointed to the processing of biometric characteristics of fingerprints, such as the division of fingerprints, algorithm extraction from direction fields and image enhancement of fingerprints. The algorithm used on division of fingerprints were a set of algorithm based on the intensity of Corner, which was proposed by A. Baig in 2008. The results are satisfactory. The algorithm used on extraction from direction fields were the classical algorithm proposed by A.K.Jain in 1997. Results of extraction from direction fields were very satisfactory. We realized two algorithms of enhancement in BITKAPP, compared and discussed the their results. In addition, BITKAPP also support the fingerprint capturer.
