The rotary joint is a key component of radar feeder system. It can accomplish the transmission of microwave signals as radar rotates. And in order to improve the power capacity of the high-power radar the high-pressure gas is filled to the feeder system. While the sealed windows is a key component of maintaining the system pressure and its performance directly affects the performance and reliability of radar.The magnetic fluid seal rotary joint is a new joint and there are many advantages over other joints. The evaporation of the organic solution which is the carrier of magnetic fluid leads to seal failure as the temperature rises. Therefore, the thermal analysis of this joint is particularly important. Firstly, this article describes how to design the magnetic fluid seal rotary joint under the principle of magnetic fluid sealing characteristics for the engineering application. Moreover, the thermal analysis of the conduction, radiation and convection was carried out separately according to traditional theory of thermal design. In order to avoid excessive temperature rise of this joint failures due, effective thermal design is applied to the joint and it carried out through the thermal analysis simulation software '' Flotherm'' verification. As the joint was conducted with seal test, high and low temperature test, high power experiment and the electrical performance test successfully, the joint was successfully applied in practice.Fluoride crystal mica, a new developed artificial mica silicate crystals in recent decades, is applied in many fields. The fluoride crystal waveguide mica window seal, which is designed through the analysis of the thermal adaptation, frequency characteristics, stress and deformation, proves to be a good window seal for high-power radar by the experiments.
