Flavors is not only an indispensable material in cigarette production, but also the key materials embodying the characteristics of cigarette craft, therefore, the quality control of cigarette flavoring has always been the close concern of the tobacco companies. Cigarette flavor fingerprint is an effective and objective means for quality control and evaluation of flavors and fragrance.This method can identify the characteristics of flavor and fragrance quantitatively and qualitatively, and provide a reliable basis to identify the quality of flavor and fragrance. At present,no one quality evaluation software of cigarette flavoring fingerprint, which can be extended,has been developd.Firstly,this paper analyzes the research progress of quality evaluation of cigarette flavor at home and abroad,summarizes the data preprocessing algorithms in the system which includes data smoothing, background correction, data normalization, the chromatographic peak correction algorithms, the two similarity formulas, the PCA-MD, PLS-DA, SIMCA and other modeling algorithms of fingerprint spectra,and proposes a method combining PCA with the high-dimensional data visualization——PPCP.Furhtermore,this paper proposes the business models and working process of this syetem according to the requirement of tobacco enterprise,expounds the key issues aiming at the system implementation which includes XML, matrix class library design and visualization,and proposes the analysis of unit testing and integration testing for this system.Finally,this paper describes the whole process of the quality evaluation system with a specific application example.Through the deep researches for the fingerprint spectrum quality evaluation system of cigarette flavor, this paper obtained two creative results. One is that a new visualization classification algorithm for high-dimension flavor fingerprint spectrum data is proposed based on PCA and parallel coordinate visualization——PPCP. The other is that a quality evaluation software for the cigarette flavor is developed based on computer technology, pattern recognition, visualization, chemometrics. At present, the software has been put into use in YunNan Honghe Cigarette Industry, and brings good economic benefits.
