China News Service (CNS) is one of two integrated news agencies of China. It is the largest professional international communication body in China and has long engaged in international communication as a non-governmental news agency. Through years of experience in international communication, CNS has gradually formed its unique style which can be summarized as'international perspective'and'affinity'.'Reality, extensiveness, terseness, rapidness, flexibility'is the exact description of its style. While the'Xinhua Style', which is established through years of journalistic practice by Xinhua News Agency and has become a distinctive style in China's journalism circle, is characterized by conciseness, distinct arrangement of ideas and explanation of facts through facts. However, it is frequently criticized due to its stylization because it turns the creative work of news writing into simple labor, thus journalists become workmen. The'CNS Style'and the'Xinhua style'has, to some extent, a relation of source and flow, and interplayed during their process of development. As a journalistic style which is formed as a result of the needs of overseas readers, the'CNS style'has combined Chinese culture with western culture and become a relatively influential media text form.'Xinhua Style'embodies the traditional advantage of China's mainstream media. However, due to its inherent limitation, it is confronted with further transformation and reform in the state's current international communication. Therefore, this thesis studies the relation of source-and-flow and the process of reform of the'CNS Style'and'Xinhua Style'by comparing their origin and development, their character, function, style and effect through the thread of history, and analyzes the inspired significance of the linguistic style of the'CNS Style'to China's international communication strategy under the circumstances of information globalization, thus to provide theoretical reference for the transformation and reform of China's international communication:①We need a broader international perspective in international communication;②We should adhere to the principles of'Three Approaches';③We should improve the capacity of the art of communication and enhance the ability to make us heard in the world arena. The transformation and reform of China's international communication should focus on the aspects of journalistic language and media character. In other words, we should speak in intangible opinion, write in a way that can be easily accepted by the target receivers, express in the'CNS Style', and renovate the traditional journalistic language into a professional international communication language, so as to seize the initiative in the global communication geography and further enhance China's soft power.
