Traffic simulation developed with the advances in computer technology, it is a traffic analysis technique and method that reflect the complexity of the phenomenon of road traffic, are simulation tools that reproduced time and space changes in traffic flow, but also an effective method that evaluation of all signal control program. With the rapid development of computer technology, studying the problem of road traffic using computer simulation has become an international hot spot of traffic engineering.The traditional road traffic simulation rely mainly on virtual traffic data, the main disadvantage is that:During the simulation, vehicles will not be generate by the actual time on traffic site, but will be generate randomly according to the empirical distribution, makes the simulation process are not correspond with the actual traffic site, leading to low accuracy of the results of simulation evaluation. Real-time data traffic simulation technology in this thesis links up simulation system and information on the actual generation of vehicles with the mature simulation software and interface technology, it can reproduce real traffic site through gathering real traffic information of vehicles and simulation. This method overcomes the disadvantage of low accuracy in evaluating of the existing traffic simulation system. In this thesis, two aspects of the work completed.Firstly, the thesis introduced the microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM, parameters settings of the software to be described in detail. By the simulation of Second Ring Road and Jiulidi Road intersection, the two main driving parameters bx_add and bx_mult affecting saturation flow rate are calibrated, meanwhile parameters of the selected range are given, to meet the actual road traffic. Secondly, this thesis real-time data traffic simulation system design and implementation was complete. Real-time data traffic simulation system consists of the following modules:Microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM, the virtual traffic signal controller, Video vehicle detection system (The Autoscope Rackvision System), simulation software. This thesis main complete the design of the simulation system software, simulation software based on VISSIM can reproduced traffic site through collecting vehicle information and list the information of traffic controllers as well as detectors. The effect of the simulation can be clear at a glance.The design of Real-time data traffic simulation system is important for parameter calibration that affecting saturation flow rate of VISSIM. In the simulation process, as vehicles of the VISSIM simulation software is generated according to the empirical distribution, so the delay evaluation results of the intersection for each simulation are random, no regular, thus, it is difficult to adjust the simulation parameters. Vehicles of the real-time data traffic simulation system is generated in accordance with actual data of traffic site, so the delay evaluation results of the intersection for each simulation are increased according to the increase of the parameters of bx_add and bx_mult, thus, it is simple to adjust the simulation parameters.
