Polarization is one of the important characteristics of light. Detection of polarization of light not only help us to light the deep understanding, but also help to promote the social productive forces.With the development of modern optical fiber communication technology, information the transfer rate of information is accelerating and the transmission distance is longer and longer. The impact of the polarization on the optical fiber communication system can no longer be ignored. So the study on the restrictions for the evolution of fiber polarization to the optical fiber communication system is crucial. In addition, the polarization is involved in the secret communication and quantum computers, and also plays an important role. Today, polarization optics is also used in photoelasticity method for the detection of the stress distribution of the mechanical structure, the crystal axis, the concentration of sugar solution, optical sensing and so on. All of these uses can not be separated from the efficient and convenient measurement of polarization. Above all, studying on the detection of polarization has a broad and profound practical significance.In this paper, based on the previous work based on the detection of the polarization state,I has made a systematic and comprehensive introduction which is about the measurement of polarization and set up a convenient four-channel experimental system to detect the stokes parameters. While I analyzed the performance of the components of the system, I have designed and made the high-speed photoelectric conversion printed circuit board. By regulating the system, I achieve the polarization of 100MHz,500MHz light pulse and the variational polarization of 38.88MHz. Finally, according to the date, the system can detect high-speed signals and has a bright future in real-time measurement of the polarization.
