Development Of High-speed Changing Polarization State Generator Based On SOA

With increasing demand in capacity and speed, the polarization problem begins to be serious in the optical fiber communication system. High-speed polarization control technology can compensate the signal injury which is related to polarization and provide technical support for promoting the system's capacity and speed, so the research on high-speed polarization state occurrence and detection is becoming a potential hot point.First, the thesis studied the polarization charactics in SOA, and presented two high-speed polarization occurrence programs electronically controlled based on SOA's polarization effect.Second, by analyzing the home-made extruding fiber polarization controller's structure and function, thesis improved the design of the polarization controller. The new polarization controller has many advantages, such as small size, compact structure, good performance, insensitive to the wavelength, and conducive to systems integration. In addition, thesis helped improve and present a method which can adjust the home-made four-channel stokes parameters detecting experimental system.Finally, thesis achieved a continuous changing rate of 38.88 MHz polarization states occurrence and detection, and experimental results is carefully handled and analysed, which provides some ideas to speed up the polarization occurrence system.
