Overloading of vehicles has significant implications for the healthy development of the national economy. Overloading doesn't only endanger the safety of life and property, but also destroy the environment and affect the order of the state. Overloading detection belongs to the category of vehicle weighing. Traditional method of vehicle weighing is setting up the static weighing station or weigh-in-motion station. But weighing station is relatively fixed, the vehicles will bypass weighing station to escape weighing inspection; also, weighing processes require lower speed, which reduce traffic efficiency of vehicle. The on-board dynamic weighing system can effectively solve the problem of traffic efficiency.In this paper, we studied the on-board dynamic weighing technology, on this basis, we designed a dynamic monitoring system for overloading based on the on-board weighing device and short message technology. The system can real-time monitor vehicle static load, transient load, partial load and overloading conditions, show the total load and axle load of vehicles, when the vehicle is overloaded, it sends a short message to the monitoring platform to report the overloading, then the monitoring platform can make the penalties for overloading conditions.This paper described the principle, structure and implement method of each part of the dynamic monitoring system for overloading. System uses recognize circuit to detect vehicle running and vibration state, using paste-type strain sensor that installed in vehicle's leaf spring to obtain load on the leaf spring, fusion angle sensor detect gradient information and then calculate and display the axle load and total load of vehicle, and the transient load and static load shows respectively.In the case of overloading, vehicle load monitoring device control on-board short message terminals to send a short message reporting the situation of overloading.Overloading monitoring and management platform is responsible for receiving and processing the short messages and providing datas to the relevant departments.System can simultaneously monitor the vehicle's multiple load index, having the ability to monitor the whole road and high accuracy and reliability.
