With the flourish development of security industry at home and abroad,network video monitoring technologies are continuously improving,video encoding and decoding technology which places core position in this industry is becoming more and more important.At present there are two series of international video coding standards, H.264 and MPEG-4.Both of them have good performance,however,the high expense property right has restricted large-scale industrialization of them in security system. Under these conditions,our country brought forward the second digital audio-video coding standard AVS which China owns independent intellectual property.Comparing with H.264,it has the same encoding efficiency,but greatly lower arithmetic complexity and expense property right,and it can be widely used in many domains,thus the study on AVS is of great significance for the development of security industry and digital audio-video industry of our country.This thesis takes the develoment of video monitoring as background,the first chapter gives an overview of the history and characteristics of video codec standards,describes the meaning of the study in this paper.The second chapter deeply analyzes the key technologies of AVS,such as intra prediction,inter prediction,integer DCT transform & quantization,entropy coding and loop filter,and points out its advantages.The third chapter designs and realizes the network video monitoring system based on AVS,and puts emphasis on the motion estimation and intra prediction algorithms of AVS,makes the analysis and simulation between AVS and H.264 on PC.The forth chapter implements the migration of AVS coding algorithms to DSP platform,after optimization the encoder can process real-time coding in surveillance system.The fifth chapter gives the summarize of this thesis, and points out the further work orientation.
