With the development of new technologies and new service, great changes have taken place in communication. Along with the explosive growth of IP data services, the high-speed, low-cost access network has become the inevitable trend of the future network development. At present, the bandwidth of the backbone network hasing been up to gigabit or even terabit make the user's access network recently become the constraints of the network evolving to broadband. How to break the bottleneck of the "last mile" has a variety of broadband access solutions,, making this technology presents a very active area of the competitive situation. At the same time, the traditional fixed-access users are increasingly not satisfied with just the home or office environment, using the fixed broadband services. "Mobile broadband" will be the future of broadband technology development trend. How intergrading from the existing fixed wireline broadband access technology to wireless broadband access technologies, is an important subject of wireless broadband technologies the development, but also an important direction for the development of broadband technologies. This paper focuses on the process of the transition from wired access to wireless access, from fixed access to mobile accessThis first chapter presents the existing broadband access methods, labors the characteristics of each technology in order to find the breakthrough of the"last mile" wireless technology; the second chapter analyzes the three major broadband wireless access technologies, compares the advantages and disadvantages, then finds out an appropriate technology fit for the present network characteristics and business applications; the third chapter focused on analysis of the technical characteristics of the technology chosen in chapter two and made a transitional program to the Wireless;the fourth chapter is to focus on how to plan and deploy the "last mile" wireless technology and the realization of the wireless access network.
