With dense wavelength division multiplexing optical communication the rapid development of optical transmission network with a large gain on the bandwidth, high gain level and the saturation output power, low noise figure,as well as multi-channel signal amplification ability of optical amplifiers at the same time demand for more and more pressing.Current large-scale use of erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) has been unable to meet the above requirements. This paper analyzes the continuous-wave dual-pumped highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF) in the non-degenerate four-wave mixing and optical parametric amplification. To the full text of the first chapter provides a theoretical basis for derivation of the process of introduction, the merits of the FOPA, structure and research to recent developments in fiber optical parametric amplifier theory, principles, four-wave mixing phase-matching conditions, using fiber FWM to achieve all-optical wavelength conversion of the technical difficulties, continuous light generated by the basic theory of fiber optical parametric amplifier gain of the polarization correlation study of theoretical models, the second chapter in the future the total input pump power remains unchanged, only to change the double-pump power P1,P2 ratio of s,pairs of four-wave mixing gain coefficient g and the parametric amplification gain and gain bandwidth of the theoretical study and numerical simulation, and with the total input pump power remains unchanged, the double-pump power P1,P2 are equal (s=1)the circumstances were compared.Numerical simulation results show that:When the P1 to P2,0.6 (s=0.6) incident, select the appropriate fiber length, parametric amplification is much larger than the same conditions of degenerate four-wave mixing parametric amplification in the process gain.
