In the actual industrial process control, amplitude and variation of the control signal would be limited due to the control variables and the enforcement agencies, which will be affected by the constraints of physical condition. And if the controller is applied without considering the control limitation, the system may introduce the non-linear element that will give rise to lessen the performance. Therefore, the research on the constrained input signal has practical significance.Internal model control (IMC) is a kind of advanced control method, which has simple design, the only parameters adjusted online, and its unique robustness and prediction ability. In solving the problem of multivariate control system, it has good control performance. This project will apply internal model control to deal with some the problems about the control system restrained.This article will detailedly introduce internal model control that includes the basic principle, structures and robustness, then, internal mod-el controller design will be discussed, including some design methods about first-order process and high order process controller. On the multivariable control system, the project puts forward a design method by means of calculating relative gain matrix and adding feed forward compensator to design decoupling, in order to improve control precision of the rolling process. Finally, the predictive control are introduced about its some basic knowledge, and the essay discusses the contact between it and internal model control so as to find out essence of their relation that the predictive control has the internal model control structure. Both can be better combined, that provides a very good idea to resolve this issue.How to solve the problem of input constraints in multivariable system, the algorithm of predictive control is adopted generally in industry, which can explicitly deal with constraints and the couple effect among variables in multivariable system, and the use of Inter Model Control to solve the problem is still in the exploration. In this article, a algorithm based on the structure of Inter Model control is preliminarily proposed. The algorithm takes advantage of the static priority to coordinate the couple effect among variables, and use the regional analysis combined with Model Predict Control to make control variables in the constraint condition. The simulation results verify this effectiveness and significance of the proposed algorithm.
