Wireless Ad Hoc network is a multi-hop self-organizing network, which has a dynamic topology, multi-hop, no center, and the bandwidth and energy limitations and so on. Wireless Ad Hoc Networks now has become a field of mobile communications research focus. That the terminal nodes can achieve efficient use of geographic information with limited bandwidth and energy, to avoid addressing the process of a large number of flood information, so the node positioning of wireless Ad Hoc networks become an important research topic. This paper first described the wireless Ad Hoc network positioning, including the basic principles of positioning algorithms and measurement techniques. On this basis, the paper self-positioning of existing typical algorithms are classified, focusing on the representative algorithm in all its principles and characteristics. This paper introduces the typical RSSI location algorithm based on improved methods, and ways of improving the positioning algorithm based on the performance of RSSI from the primary mode of transmission of wireless signals, analyzes RSSI location algorithm based on the error cause is that the wireless propagation environment and the complexity of the wireless signal propagation caused by the randomness of the impact of communication mode parameters. The basis of this analysis, a spatial average based on the idea of nodes on transmission patterns similar to the average RSSI value in order to reduce the impact of random fading, that the average clustering algorithm. Paper gives a concrete algorithm description and the theoretical analysis to demonstrate the average clustering algorithm.Comparison of clustering algorithms for analyzing the performance of the average, respectively, from the theoretical and physical simulation experiment results show that, in complex communication environment, the theoretical principles of the algorithm is correct, the average clustering algorithms in practical use with high precision, interference robustness, less demand on the number of anchor performance advantages.
