Peer-to-peer (P2P) networking is generally seen as a new technology with a significant impact on the Internet.Internet has been becoming more and more heterogeneous, distributed and dynamic. Compared with the traditional C/S pattern,P2P pattern has lots of incomparable superiorities such as expansibility, robustness, high cost performance and load balancing . However, P2P is also facing some challenges, especially in resource location and routing. It's always difficult to achieve high scalability and stability and get an balance beteewn the routing efficiency and flexibility. The open-source Project JXTA is a peer-to-peer platform originally conceived by Sun Microsystems Inc. It tries to build a efficient, open and good-operation P2P platform. This paper analyze various routing and location mechanisms of different peer-to-peer structure ,and then focus on JXTA location mechanism, pointing out the shortcomings and deficiencies of them. In order to improve the disadvantages,a new jxta-based location solution model combined the structured and un-structured network location mechanism is put forward. And then the author implement a system prototype based on the mechanism. The system replace the inconsistent DHT location policy with Chord and change the service named shared resource distributed index while retaining the super-node structure. At last,a JXTA Shell is expanded and some evaluation experiments are preceded. The test demonstrate it can improve the cost performance on location and routing and it is more adaptableto the highly dynamic and large-scale network.
