| 32-bit ColdFire high-performance MCU MCF52259 which is mainly recommended by Freescale company and boasted of its rich resource, powerful function and one-stop connectivity solution, has became the ideal choice for the customers when they chose the 32-bit MCU. Since Freescale didn't provide the chip samples until the February, 2009, and MCF52259 lacks standardized and complete bottom-level drivers and application sample, also high development costs and long process in the embedded applications development. Commissioned by Freescale company, the author made a in-depth study and practice on the application development methods on the MCF52259, aiming to promote its chip application. Based on the application development of the MCF52259, the author designed and made a MCF52259EVB development board. Then, according to the principle of the embedded component, the author made a detail introduction of the implementation process of the common module drivers like UART, AD, Flash, USB, CAN and Ethernet. In the whole design process, the author made a standarized package on each module driver and designed the testing case to verify the correctness of the driver.The author developed a multi-function embedded data communication converter to achieve USB-RS232 serial port mutual convert, RS232 serial port-CAN mutual convert and Ethernet-CAN mutual convert, in this process the author completed the data analysis, re-package and forwarding function, aiming to improve the real-time ability of data converter, design the proper data structures and implement the flow control and error control mechanisms in protocol conversion layer. This not only provides a MCF52259 embedded application development framework and model, but also verifies the correctness of the bottom drivers.The software and hardware components of MCF52259 have been fully tested and approved by Freescale company. The data converter has a good real-time and error control ability. Now it is used in our lab and has a great performance. |
