As a spread spectrum technology,Ultra-Wideband Radio (UWB) has more and more attention in recent years. Since UWB wireless communication has lots of advantages such as high data transmission rate, low power consumption, high precision location identification, inherently exceptional multipath immunity and low cost and so on, it has been the subject of extensive research in the short-range wireless communication area. It can used for high-speed wireless multimedia communications, can also be applied on low-speed sensor networks. But the UWB wireless communication system takes low power spectral density, and pulse duration is very short string to transmit information, they will bring the challenge to the signal capture ,which makes the receiver to synchronize the requirements of high. The history and basic theory of UWB communication are introduced at first. The channel model and the modulation technology is then analyzed in detail, specially the IEEE802.15.3a channel model is discussed and simulated. TDT algorithm is introduced specially, and it has the low complexity and fast acquisition characteristic. TDT algorithm is a good synchronization acquisition technique in UWB systems. However, TDT algorithm also has the disadvantages. It need to add data-aided for TDT algorithm in PAM-UWB systems and can not achieve synchronization in PPM-UWB systems. Finally the thesis proposes two synchronization acquisition schemes, the one is combining TDT algorithm with orthogonal Hermite pulse for PAM-UWB, and theother is using data-aided for PPM-UWB.The theoretical analysis results show that the schemes are available. Simulation results show synchronous acquisition performance curve.
