As the development of technology, advancement of society and improvement of people's living standard, new wireless communication system is expected by market to provide higher transmission rate, offer wider bandwidth and support faster moving terminals. The most effect way to meet such requirements is the ultra-wideband technology. However, the realization of ultra-wideband communication system still faces many challenges, especially synchronization. IR-UWB system uses ultra-short pulse which is low power. At the same time, there is delay in the process of signal's transmission. So, the small synchronization error can also cause a decline in performance of communication system.This dissertation investigates several issues related to the hot topic. At first, this paper studies the basic theory of the popular UWB system, which bases on the definition of ultra-wideband, pulse signals, modulation, IEEE channel model, Rake receiver technology. It confirms that the ultra-wideband system has more advantages than the existing communication system.Second, this paper describes the detail of the noisy template algorithm in the TH-PAM modulation. On this basis, here studies four kinds of noise signal processing technology and makes detailed comparison on the theoretical analysis and simulation results. Here, we can get the solution that using multiple sets of symbols to take an average does not suppress noise effectively.At last, in order to improve the performance of the synchronization algorithm in dense multi-path channel conditions, noise template algorithm and Hermite polynomial are combined together. A synchronization acquisition algorithm of quadrature pulse modulation is presented, which combined sliding-related. This algorithm considers the compromise of complexity and precision. It is simple. The analysis of theory shows that eliminating the flat phenomenon of the noisy template method with nodate and greatly inproving the performance of the receiver. Finally, the simulation confirms the feasibility of the algorithm.
