The era of Web 2.0 has brought extensive changes to our society. Thanks to the interactivity and openness, Tencent QQ is using the opportunity to update its way of marketing and communication comprehensively. On the one hand, with the development of the internet, our consumers'dependence is increasing. On the other hand, Tencent QQ is taking advantage of the internet to help close distance with the consumers.Although Tencent QQ has forged increasingly closer ties with consumers, there is little research about the method of marketing and communication of Tencent QQ. Therefore, from the viewpoint of communication and marketing, the thesis explores the development background of instant message (IM), research on the communication and marketing characteristic of Tencent QQ, also the problems they have and their marketing and communication development trend. It is of practical significance to the operation of Tencent QQ marketing and will promote the sound development of IM market.
