With more and more products of UWB technology being applicated in communition areas, the study of UWB technology was going deeper. As one important key technology of UWB system, TH (Time-Hopping) technology began to receive widespread attention. The design of time-hopping sequence and performance analysis in TH technology is an important component of its aspects. Hopping technology is an important component of ultra-wideband impulse radio communications, playing a vital role. Hopping sequence is the source to realize ultra-wideband impulse radio multiple-access communication. The number of time-hopping sequences directly determines the number of users in the communication system, while it is also a reliable guarantee of the synchronization and channel detection. Therefore, the time-hopping sequences'properties of the pros and cons directly affect the entire ultra-wideband wireless communication systems. The main contents were summarized as following:1. Getting start in the designing of time-hopping sequences, the performing indicators of RS codes as the time-hopping sequences were analysised and studied in theory. Second, the transmissing environment of TH-UWB system was studied, and built the model. Third, the signal processing and anti-noise performance of TH-UWB system receiver were studied. The UWB system performance with RS codes and the currently common used time-hopping sequences was simulated in respectively PPM modulating mode and PAM modulation mode, and got a conclude that the RS codes discussed in this article as a time-hopping sequences had an excellent relate performance and a large number of sequences for TH-UWB communication system.2. The performance of the system using binary PPM, PAM modulation and multi-ary PPM modulation were discussed in the multi-path conditions. Mainly derived the relationship between system's BER(Bit Error Rate), SNR(signal to noise ratio), the number of users in the system and system's capacity, and verified the conclusions using computer-simulating tools (MATLAB 7.0), we could see that compared with binary modulation, system performance had also being improved with using M-ary modulation.3. Through the research of Rake receivers for UWB systems, A-Rake, S-Rake and P-Rake s and the relationship between channel characteristics and receiver's properties respectively analysised in theory and simulation. The multi-access performance of ultra-wideband system was educted under the condition of multi-path, and further verification of the results was processed through simulation.
