Meter-wave MIMO Radar, a new kind of radar system which comes of MIMO communication system is of high performance on target detecting and tracking along with "four counteraction" capability. The signal processing system, especially the pulse and aperture synthesis processing subsystem is the key difference from other traditional radar system.The paper is a study on implementation of the system on the FPGA+DSP based hardware platform , say synthesis processing board , according to the essential theory of meter-wave MIMO radar. In the paper, the basic concepts and principles of SIAR, a typical kind of meter-wave MIMO radar, are introduced in brief firstly. And some signal processing algorithm including the method of receive DBF, impulse and aperture synthesis (3-D matched filtering technique) and coherent integration are discussed and simulated.Then, the structure of signal processor is introduced in brief and the synthesis processing board based mainly on FPGA and supplemented by DSP is described in detail.Lastly,the overall workflow of synthesis processing board dependend on the data flow received and the resources possessed is presented. Furthermore we designed some key modules,such as receive DBF, impulse/aperture synthesis and some essential interface modules.To verify the validity of the design,the simulation using ModelSim software is implemented,and its result is processed and compared in Matlab,which illustrates the effectiveness of the FPGA modules.
