As a perfect vehicle on land,High Speed Maglev Vehicle(HSMV) is characterized by high velocity,less energy consuming,lower noise,safety and comfort etc. The gap sensor plays an important role for electromagnetic suspensive system which is a critical component of HSMV. The gap sensor is a type of inductance displacement sensor, it measure the gap between the cogging surface of the Long Stator Rail(LSR) and the Electromagnet,and send this information of the gap to the Suspension Control System. Since the LSR to be detected with cogging structure, which makes the gap sensor's output with cogging effect. When cogging effect too big will affect the suspension control of HSMV, thus affecting the normal operation of HSMV.In this paper, firstly introduce the development status of Maglev Train and reducing cogging effect of HSMV gap sensor; then introduce the principle of gap sensor, and analysis the effect of LSR's material and structure; finally introduce the realization of the gap sensor each component unit.Through analysising cogging effect data of gap sensor using Rectangular Detection Coils(RDC), get the rule of RDC inductance varies with gap and cogging location, and simplify simulation model. In addition, discussing the method of selecting gap calibration position in order to reduce gap error result from cogging effect and the method of analysising RDC magnetic induction using magnetization current.Simulate static magnetic field of the system compose of RDC and LSR using Ansoft Maxwell 3D finite element analysis software. Design a new type detection coil, according to different magnetic induction distribution that RDC on tooth and on slot.Optimize the new type detection coil parameters using Ansoft Maxwell 3D,to reach minnum cogging effect when gap about 10 mm. Finally, according to parameters result from simulation, actually produce new type detection coil,and through experiment verification of the new type coil can effectively reduce the cogging effect.
