The product data management is a means that manufacture corporation manage the product forming process by using data models. It's an integrative managing technology which is based on software technology, main in product, and manages the interrelated data, process and resource. The paper is mainly about the development process of the list data management system using in automobile product data.The motor list means to detail the composing of the car in car design period. In automobile developing department the list doesn't serve for the actual manufacturers, but describing the structure of the car in functions. For example, the automobile can be separated into different parts in different functions, and each part can complete a set of particular function. The parts can also be divided sub-to some components and pieces further, and every components and pieces still include some sub-components and assembly, which can reach a part of functions. Therefore, the automobile components list is generally used to illuminate the relation between all parts and accessories according to the functions and structures.The motor list play an important role in all car designing and manufacturing process. The producing efficiency is influenced by whether its compiling, classifying and managing are well. So the management of the list is an important affair but must be giving a lot of care for the designers. This article mainly studies how to develop a management system of the automobile components list, and explain the necessity and importance of developing this system.This system applies a'facing to object'method to analysis and design, and process the data in the SQL Server 2000 database. The whole system are designed and developed by Visual C# developing language on Windows XP platform.This text mainly discusses the design and the development process of the list management system, and it mainly includes a few aspects as follows:(1) The customer registers managementThe customer registers management is setting based on the consideration of the system safety. When the logging on window is opened, you should enter your ID and code. The system searches your information in the database of users'records, and automatically adds your ID. Then the system will check out the correctness of your code. If the ID is valid you will be allowed to enter, or if the code is error you will be forbidden.(2) Car parts managementCar parts management is the foundations of the whole automobile components list management. Because one list is one chart that it includes a couple of car parts collection. When you import some information into the list, you need select relative car parts. The parts information include the car parts' serial number, name, type, calculate quality, single piece quality, material and breadth etc.. Managing the car parts means that you need have some entering, revising and deleting operations. In addition, the color of the parts is entered by styling designers not by engineers, so the system especially appends color management sub-module.(3)The list managementThe list management is the core function of designing this system. The basic information of the list includes the grouping position it belonging to, the information of each part and the composing relationship of all parts and so on. The system offer new, modify and view functions to the list for conveniently managing.(4) Design modification managementDesign modification management includes establishing new modifying notification, the list alteration and resizing rejected list. Establishing new modifying notification is the main part of the modification process. Each modifying notification can append several modification lists which must belong to the same grouping position. The system will automatically set up a notification serial number according to the first letter of the entering. Then all the steps as follow will focus on this modification. When the notification is checked and released, all the modified list belonging to this notification will become releasing data immediately. And the crucial step of setting up a new notification is to associate relative lists. Because design modification is not only revising the digital model, but also modifying relative lists.(5) Grouping gathering list managementGrouping gathering list is the catalogue of the components list. Every type of automobile includes a set of grouping gathering lists. The system provides entering and checking functions of the gathering list. The interface is kept to the original gathering list form consistently, which is convenient to the engineers.(6) The system managementThe management of the system mainly includes the customer, section office, the car type series, the car specification, the management purview etc. Because of the same as the interfaces and functions of the basic information management system, this system unifies these aspects into one window, and manages them page by page. When choosing different submenu of the system management menu, the system will switch to relative page for checking, entering, deleting and revising.After testing in our company inside, this system is running correctly and stably which achieves the management of the car parts. All the data are kept in a unified database server. It can manage and check the files establishing in the design process and enhance working efficiency.
