In recent years, with the development of virtual reality technology and its application field expands unceasingly, from aerospace to urban design and planning, from military to teaching, virtual reality technology plays a very important role. Therefore, the virtual reality technology in marine engine simulator becomes a hot research.The traditional marine engine simulator is often made up of hardware and software, using half of the physical simulation system to simulate working environment. Not only the hardware components of this simulation system are expensive, but also it is restricted by space hardly, as well the routine maintenance and repair is very difficult. The immersed feeling of software is bad too, because of its 2D display. Some navigation virtual system which can realize virtual roaming had poor performance about human-machine interaction, some even unable to do man-machine interactive operation. Thus establishing a main switchboard virtual reality simulation system can perfect the existing marine engine simulator, which can improve students' learning interest and efficiency too.This thesis take the power system of actual project (Tianjin Marine vocational college's the land engine room) of Dalian maritime university as prototype. First of all, use SolidWorks and Autodesk 3ds Max to build up 3d model of the main switchboards. Secondly, realize virtual roaming of the engine control room. Thirdly, combine with Visual C# to design interactive simulation system.The main work done as follows:(1) Establish lifelike 3d model of the main switchboards and construct virtual environment of the engine control room.(2) Use the virtual reality platform EON to realize virtual roaming of the engine control room, and use the functional nodes of EON to simulate the function of the main switchboard, and perfect human-machine interaction.(3) Make Visual C# interact with EON about date and interactive control, developing main switchboards simulation system.This paper expounds the ship power system and the function of main switchboard, and briefly introduces the use of virtual reality technology and software which the author used in this paper. At the end of the article, author points out some shortage of this simulation system for future improvement.
