Since traditional aviation bus MIL-STD-1553 is not enough to satisfy the requirements for modern military communication, it is of great significance to develop a high-rate communication interface on the original aviation bus. Owing to high data transfer rate and high spectral efficiency, etc. OFDM technology can be applied to implement high-rate communication interface to provide a data highway mutually compatible with the original communications without interference.Channel estimation is one of the key technologies of OFDM system, and it is the basis of coherent detection, demodulation and equalization. Firstly, the basic theory and key technologies of OFDM system are simply introduced. Secondly, channel estimation algorithms based on pilot signals are mainly addressed, each of which is evaluated by means of Matlab simulation. Thirdly, based on the analysis of the channel model, scheme selection, design ideas and implementation methods of channel estimation module on FPGA are discussed in details. The validation results of Matlab and FPGA show that channel estimation module performs well and meets the requirements of high-rate communication.Finally, a low PAPR pilot design method is presented, with which pilot symbols can be used to implement the functions of the PAPR reduction and channel estimation in order to reduce system overhead.
