Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are formed by sensor nodes. It is applicable for sensing, collecting and processing the information of the monitored objects in the deployment area. And the acquired information are transmitted to the data center. Therefore, data management is an important research issue in WSNs.In this paper, based on the background, significance and current research status of wireless sensor network data management, we developed a balance multi-query algorithm for large-scale wireless sensor network. The main idea of this algorithm is to minimize the amount of query by merging multiple queries according to their common feature of query range. Thus, this kind of large-scale data query can be immune to the limitation of network resources during its execution. This thesis mainly consists of two parts. Firstly, we introduce the related knowledge about sensor networks, and illustrate its data management based on the analysis of the basic concept in sensor networks. Secondly, we developed a simple and effective data query algorithm after we have made a comparison of current data query processing algorithms. Simulation results indicate that this multi-query algorithm performs better than the traditional query methods if it is configured with correct parameters.
