For decades, non-contact measurement technology, especially the laser measurement technology developed quickly, which made high techniques as the rapid precision measurement, tracking measurement, the large dimension measurement to be used widely. In the project of FAST(Five hundred Meter Aperture of Spherical Telescope,),laser tracker and laser total station are used as the very instruments, which make the giant institutions run by planning.Some problems on the application of non-contact measurement technology in engineering were researched based on the FAST50m model. According to the requirements for the structure of the model, a measuring system based on laser tracker and laser total station was established, Data-processing software, problems into the integration of different instruments, performance and problems needing attention to the measuring instruments while working in the engineering measurement field were studied and discussed. Finally, the problem of data beating caused by limit of the performance of instruments while tracking was analyzed, which achieved good dffect.
