LTE (Long Term Evolution) system proposed by 3GPP has won the support of the majority of all the operators, so that seizing the opportunity to develop LTE base station and terminal is inevitable. Under the support of LTE UE (User Equipment) project, we studied and implemented the LTE uplink baseband transmission system.Due to its lower PAPR property compared with OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), SC-FDMA (Single Carrier-FDMA) is chosen as the uplink multiple access technique in LTE,and its study forms an important chapter in this thesis. We investigate its PAPR performance both from its subcarrier mapping scheme and the realizing way, and compare it with OFDM.To develop the baseband transmission system, it's necessary to have a good command of physical uplink procedures, PUSCH, PUCCH and PRACH processing modules are elaborated in this thesis.The hardware structure of our LTE uplink baseband transmission system is given. And then detailed the processing of each chip, when data is transported in PUSCH, PUCCH and PRACH channels. Finally, the main work I've done in LTE UE project is highlighted also, which includes: convert the system from FDD to FDD and TDD compatible; transport block traversal of code block segmentation module; implementation of rate matching for turbo coded transport channels; upgrade the PUSCH channel; auto traversal test of PUSCH processing; PUSCH processing optimization; implementation of PRACH format 4.
