Application Of Virtualization In Cluster

The application of computer virtualization is extensive, various of operating system can be established on physical servers by virtualization, so it is good for adapting the complexity and diversification of user's need. But, if several system are integrated into one server, a critical problem have to be solved while saving the resources, that it is if physical server was broken down, all of the virtual machine(VM) will stop running. In connection with this trouble, this thesis have designed and implemented the program about how to manage the VM in cluster.Using cluster to control the VM is that managing many vServer servers through a vCenter server, all of vServer employ the same group of share storage in one cluster, and on every vServer system several VM can be operated. vCenter achieve the manipulation on physical resource via manipulating VM. At the same time, the VM running on the vServer has the function about High-availability and Load-balancing.As a result of test about the program, applying the cluster to manage the VM can make the value of I/Ops(I/O running times per second) and ART(Average Response Time) improved. By way of actual application, it is proved that taking advantage of cluster's High-availability can solve the problem about VM stopping running when physical servers have errors. As well as, making use of cluster's Load-balancing can make the usage of physical resource efficient.
