This paper makes the research on the mold setting technique, model simplification technique, 3D field drawing and environment pretreatment technique, image real-time processing, path optimization technique and collision examining technique involved in Real-time Random Walk for Virtual Walkthrough System based on geometric model and image processing to resolve the contradiction of fidelity and timeliness and improve 3D sense of space, conception, immerse feeling and interactive of it.On the basis of mold setting and optimization technique, this paper analyzes the characteristics for Virtual Walkthrough System based on geometric model and image processing to realize the fast mold setting and optimization. For the environment management technique, this paper makes the research on the different environment management methods and manages the environment effectively to adopt the BSP tree algorithm.Based on the environment database established, the author researches how to optimize the path and detect the collision and designs the fast path search and collision detection methods based on the BSP tree, which can improve the calculate efficiency of real-time random walk.
