With the development of the information technology and the CNC technology, The network management of the NC industry has become a necessity.In order to realize of network management of the CNC machine, and target at the problem of some old-fashioned machine which do not remote monitoring platform, this paper presents a program about the embedded Linux-based remote monitoring system's design and implementation. The program's embedded module make use of embedded Linux operating system and ARM processor as platform, and combinate hardware and software to complete the communication of the shop floor's monitoring host and the various CNC machine. And make use of the embedded SQLite database to conduct real-time backup on the machine status information. The program's intelligent control module accord to receive alarm information of the machine to send the appropriate control commands to the machine and protect machine normally running. In order to centralized monitor and manage much more machines, plant-level monitoring host can simultaneously monitor all the machine, including display the machine status information, monitor the communication settings between the host and the machine, and transport between machines'tool commands and NC code and so on. The host of Plant-level monitoring can be directly accessed application server by Internet, so that conduct the remote fault diagnosis about the state data of the machine.In this paper, the overall structure of the design is given firstly by starting the overall structure of the design of the project, and then by proceeding the general structure hardware and software and the relationship between the various modules. Then introducing the hardware structure design, including design ideas, the choice of each device, the overall hardware design structure diagram, the interface between the various devices, contact, devices function, and its place in this project and so on. The Hardware component mainly includes the choice of embedded module processors, the role of the processors ,the interface between processors and machine, the networking of CNC machine, the communication of the embedded module and the upper-level workshop monitoring host , the construction of the entire hardware environment ,and the configuration of the environment variable. Then introducing the design of embedded software modules, structure diagrams, flowcharts implementation , the organizational relationships of the various modules, and the creation of the communication protocol and so on. Then introducing the development process which includes the network port module of the software overall structure, serial module and the information processing module of, and the design concept and implementation of intelligent control module, as well as the design and implementation methods of the embedded database SQLite and so on. Then introducing the program debugging, project testing and how to carry out experiments and so on. Finally summarizing the entire project and making further technical outlook about the topic. The experimental results show that the program can effectively centralized monitor old-fashioned and non-remote monitoring platform's CNC machines , and the CNC machines which have dangerous operating environment,and achieving the network-based unified management of CNC machine.
