With the rapid development of information globalization, information technique is becoming the core of information age, while the core of information age is storing and processing of information. Today, more and more companies deal with business and store their date with information technique. The lost of data and the failure of information system will cause uncountable loses to the companies. However, people could not forecast and prevent the failure or disaster of the information systems because of various reasons. The demand of the continuous application of the information systems has become study focus, and disaster backup and recovery have become the research hotspots and emphasis in the field of information Security. Disaster recovery technology can protect valuable information in the computer systems and efficiently ensure the normal work of computer systems when the disaster occurs.The subject of "disaster data recovery system research and design", is aiming at analyzing and researching for the data loss of FAT and NTFS file system under the windows platform, and researching different restore algorithms towards different issues, intended to resolve the disaster data recovery of physical bad track and logical problems. The recovery system is a combination of hardware and software(can be used independently), and constituted of two parts: the upper data recovery software and the underlying data read / write controller. Compared with the traditional data recovery tools, the system can not only restore data from the storage medium with damaged logical structure, but also from the storage medium with physical damage. The system used depth scanning for disks with bad track and use breadth scanning for disks without bad track to resolve different issue. Shadow technology is processed to resolve the issue that it is easier causing second damage if reading a bad disk for a long time. The system also designed some support equipments, including IDE, SCSI, SATA interface hard drive, memory card, image files and the disaster recovery of MBR disk and GPT disk.
