Within the organizations who are producing common softwares. it's normal that two problems exist but can not be resolved or avoided easily. One is that from software testing point of view, testings focus on only the tasks of validating the functionalities of the software, so testings are hardly able to bring any benefits to systematic reviews and overviews on the software; the other one is that the developing team and the testing team are working quite independently to each other. so that some misunderstandings and miscommunications could not be avoided most of the time between them. Upon the above problems, the purpose of this thesis is to introduce a "General Testing Points Database for G1S Public Softwares" and the related pratical methods of applying this database into the whole processes of GIS public softwares production stages.In this thesis, the "General Testing Points Database" itself contains many testing points, those testing points are designed and coded based on each software function, not by software product, so that a "General Testing Points Database for GIS Public Software" is established according to the current situation that there are some theoretical studies but there is no pratical methods in the GIS public softwares testing field. This database will be able to resolve the first problem mentioned as above because this database establishing menthods are acrossing software products, acrossing software developers and acrossing working procedures. The application or method of using this established "General Testing Points Database" is also mentioned in this thesis, this application or method of using this database will be able to resolve the second problem mentioned as above by minimizing software programmers' mistakes tG", so the study on this database should be included in the knowledge management warehouse of software testing field. With following the theory of Test-Drive Development (TDD) exactly, this method fully represents the importancy of software testing during the software development and production. By completely facing to the facts of softwares productions' environment, this thesis is focusing on the research for establishing the "General Testing Points Database for GIS Public Softwares" and the study for the practical methods of using this database and applying it into the practice during real softwares developing and producing, so that this thesis may be able to contribute on improving the efficiency and quality of software productions, optimizing the testing team's internal working procedures and optimizing the whole process of software productions. GIS public softwares have the same characteristics and features as common softwares have, hopefully this study can bring some good ideas to the people who are working on the common softwares development and production as well.
