Voice is the important way for people to exchange information with the development of computers and communications technology. The requirement of voice communication is increasing, and collection, processing, transmission technologies are developed continuously. The transmission mode of voice is developing from the original analog form to digital voice transmission. A low coding rate, high voice quality and security problems are emphasized while real-timing property ensuring.According to requirements of the national 863 program (No.2007AA01Z482), a voice acquisition prototype system based on the low-rate voice coding of PSTN network transmission is researched, and the voice acquisition part in the system is implemented. First, the overall design goal and the technology scheme of software and hardware in the voice acquisition device are determined according to the requirements of the system. Second, the circuits of each functional module are designed and implemented in the device. The device is composed of voice compression chip AMBE-1000, micro-controllers, modems, FPGA and other devices as the core component, and voice information collection/restore, compression/decompression, encoding/decoding, encryption/decryption, transmission and other functions are realized in the device. The firmware of voice acquisition module and compress coding module are implemented in sfteware design. The firmware development of voice transmission is implemented when the the network transmission technology of PSTN and the communication protocol of modem are researched. The development of encrypt module using AES is realized after the hardware realization of cryptographic algorithm base on FPGA is studied. In final, the accuracy of all functions is verified by testing.
