Title: Research and Design of the Identity Authentication System for Distance Users Based on PSTNWith the penetrating of computer applications in every aspect of the social life, dealing with information through computer becomes more and more popular, and computer security is regarded more and more important. Identity Authentication is one of the most important aspects among these. In the secure computer communication, every side involving the communication has to prove their identities through some kind of identity authentication mechanism. If the identity is proved validated, control and record of the accessing could be made according to different users.At present, there are many methods of authenticating distance users, such as user name/password mode, IC card authentication mode, dynamic password mode, biologic feature mode. However, they are either hard or insecurely to use. Accordingly a lack of security exists. Firstly, several methods of identity authentication have been analyzed. Secondly, a simple and effective method of authenticating distance users has been put forward in this thesis, which is an identity authentication system of distance users based on PSTN. At last, the design thought of partial function modules has been illustrated, and partial realization of the system has been given in the thesis.
