Current media streaming transport systems are often based on the Client/Server framework and IP-level multicasting, which should be support by ISP and clients amount is limited a great extent. In P2P network, each client can forwards received data from others clients at the same time.Thereby the resource of large numbers of clients can be effectively used. The burden on the server will be relieved and the server can provide better service quality. The application prospects of the technology combing P2P with streaming media services are brightening. In this paper, the related technology about srteaming media and P2P network are introduced firstly, which included media compressed technique,a QoS controlled inapplication-level,media streaming transmission protocol, media synchronization technique and incentive mechanism, several classical models about video streaming were discussed late.Secondly,Based Practice of scientific research, the thesis designs a P2P media streaming system named PPCenter.IT can supply large-scale multimedia live Transmission .Discuss the key issues to solve deep in system, which included Single-source transmission and multi-source transmission, Media source localization system, Construction of the network topology, Scheduling algorithm for streaming media data, NAT Traversal, and proposes the methods used in PPCenter. Mesh topology model, directory server architecture, a static matching strategy of IP address were used to ensure the quality of data transmission and playback.Lastly this Paper Presents the mode, communication Protocol, and implementation of PPCenter.
